Happy August day one everybody!!
For most of us, this is the month we go back to school and different people have different feelings on that one. I always loved the first day of school and buying all new supplies, this year isn’t any different since I will be going to school as a college freshman! For those of you that don’t know, I will be an English-Creative Writing/Journalism double major at the University of Florida.
With going back to school means less time available for reading, sadly. I hope this month I will at least get to read these four since I don’t move to college until the middle of the month and can knock out maybe three of these books? Challenge accepted.
Let me know down below all the books you’re planning to read in August! Without further ado, here is my TBR for August 2017:
The House of Hades by Rick Riordan
It’s been like three weeks since I read Mark of Athena, and this book literally jumped to the top of my TBR and I couldn’t resist buying it. I need me some more Percy Jackson. The books are just so whimsical and magical-feeling, it’s so hard to read other books knowing I could read be reading this one.
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
Having first seen it mentioned on twitter, I was immediately interested because I love all of your recommendations and I cannot wait to read this. It’s about a girl who’s best friend was taken by either a king or an emporer, I’m not sure. This king/emporer takes a new wife every day and kills her each night, so this girl volunteers to be his next wife to get revenge. My heart is already pounding in suspense.
The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid
I am incredibly guilty of buying this book because it was only $3.97 at BAM and the cover was pretty cool. I have no idea what happens in this book, so I also feel incredibly bad about not being very helpful, haha. Here’s the gist from Goodreads in my own words: There’s a girl named Nemesis who is a diabolic (super badass) and protects a senator’s daughter with her life. The emporer, probably the villain, takes the daughter as a hostage of the galactic court, so Nemesis “becomes” her and travels to the court as the hostage. Then some badass stuff happens.
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
How long has it been since I read ACOTAR? Too long. I’ve been needing this book for months, multiple long months. I love this series and I really don’t want to wait to read this any longer.
Thanks for reading!
