Hello everyone!

Today I am bringing you my first ever Spring recommendations post! It’s hard for me to come up with books to read at certain times of the year because I never go through cravings of different types of books, but I think I have a pretty good list here for Spring. My premise for choosing the books was that they either took place in a world that felt like Spring, were very whimsical and mostly light-hearted, or they dealt a lot with personal growth and all that since it’s Spring and everything is growing.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Since recently finishing this book, it has become one of my all-time favorite books. I was not expecting to enjoy it nearly as much as I did, but it has been nearly a week and I still cannot stop thinking about it. There is a lot of cute love, friend love, sister love (which is refreshing since most books have sibling rivalry), and family love. It’s very light-hearted, even when there are some serious events, and sweet, and it’s really just an adorable Spring read.

 

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

This book may not be the most light-hearted book, but for some reason, it reminds me of the Spring season. I think it takes place in the Spring at parts, so maybe that’s why. There is lots of magic and unexpected love, and some serious personal growth. It is also very powerful with a lot of great themes and takes on tropes.

 

The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

Although the original Percy Jackson series is just as good of a Spring recommendation, I am choosing this series because I always mention Percy Jackson instead of Heroes of Olympus. All of Rick Riordan’s Greek and Roman mythology books are insanely funny and are very easy to read, and they are filled with all kinds of adolescent, light-hearted humor that makes it perfect for Spring.

 

 A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

How could I not choose the book that features the High Lord of the Spring court? Even if he may be the biggest, most inconsiderate, rude a** I have had the displeasure of witnessing. Tamlin aside, this series is mystical and fantastical, which are two great things I associate with the Spring time. It also takes place in the Spring court for the first book, so it gives a sense of the season.

 

The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor

Taking place in a slightly different Wonderland than we’re used to, of course this is a great Spring read. It may be a little darker than Alice in Wonderland, but the world is beautiful and Alyss is powerful and great. This book is also very mystical like ACOTAR, so it’s something fun to read during this time of the year.

 

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

This story is a take on 1001 Arabian nights, so it takes place in a desert, which is very Spring-Summer feeling. There is also an extreme amount of character development that takes place in this novel, and it is very refreshing. The love that bings to flourish is also very Spring-ish as it blooms like a flower (not cheesy at all).
